I come from a TV/Film production background. At the time of the alt.cyberkids workshops I was putting myself back through college to do a Masters in Computer Science at Cardiff University, but my interest in computing and the Internet comes from working with the medium everyday for research and design purposes. I previously provided youth support services teaching troubled youth these skills but it has been a joyful and eye-opening experience to work with the younger children at alt.cyberkids. It is amazing and rewarding how children intuitively pick up and enjoy the net and the varied, creative and playful avenues it allows them to explore.
